Live Tiles will also be purportedly incorporated into some, but not all, of Windows 9's main apps. Third-party application could also get support for the interactive functionality but developers will have to update their software accordingly.

A notification center could also be another new feature coming to Windows 9. Much like the notification center Windows Phone 8.1 introduced, this panel could give users a quick overview of new messages, app updates and the like.

The early Technology Preview will provide a first look at the new mini Start Menu, the removal of the Charms bar feature, and several UI changes to the way the desktop operates with Windows 8-style applications. Future versions are expected to include a version of Cortana, alongside other new features that Microsoft is working to complete ready for release in spring next year.

A number of sources have suggested that Microsoft will give Windows 9 away for free for current Windows 8 users. The upgrade would work the same way Apple OSX updates do. Giving Windows away for free is completely antithetical to Microsoft’s corporate culture and history--but it could be absolutely essential to its future. 

The website (which has since been taken offline now ) featured download links for Windows Technical Preview (which were not  yet released ), indicating that there will be a x86(32 bit version) and x64 version available for download. While we had no doubt that Microsoft would offer a x86 and x64 version, we now know that they will weigh 3.16GB and 4.10GB respectively. So get ready for a large download.

We also caught a small glimpse at the new interface featuring the Start menu. You cant really see much from the small image, but it sure does look nice.

Microsoft is expected to name its upcoming Windows release in next few days, but the company has accidentally listed a "Windows TH" site a little early today. Windows TH presumably stands for Windows Threshold, the codename of what many expect will become Windows 9. On a "Windows Technical Preview for Enterprise" site.
